Cancellation of extended heat warning for Brant issued June 24, 2025

The medical officer of health for Grand Erie Public Health has cancelled the heat warning issued for the Grand Erie Public Health region (Brantford-Brant and Haldimand-Norfolk). Extreme heat conditions are no longer in effect, as temperatures have cooled below advisory levels forecasted by Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Grand Erie Public Health is issuing an extended heat warning

The Medical Officer of Health for the Grand Erie Public Health is issuing an extended heat warning, effective June 24, 2025. The extended heat warning will remain in effect until a cancellation notice is issued.
The Medical Officer of Health will issue a heat warning when Environment and Climate Change Canada forecasts two consecutive days with a maximum daily temperature of 31°C or higher during the day and a minimum temperature of 20°C or higher during the evening, OR a humidex of 40°C or higher.

Garbage and Recycling in some areas of today’s collection will not get picked up by 5:00 pm. Collection Crews are working diligently and are hopeful to complete collection by this evening.
If your material has not been picked up by 8:00 pm, please either leave your materials curbside overnight or remove and place it back at curbside by 7:00 am tomorrow morning, and it will be collected by the end of day.
